Self-Advocates of Indiana is guided and governed by the SAI board of directors that meets quarterly. Each member participates on at least one committee. Committees are led by the SAI Officers and meet on a monthly basis by phone.

SAI Committees

Executive Committee

These are the Officers: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Sergeant-at-Arms, and Past President.  Officers have additional leadership responsibilities, such as chairing committees.

Education & Expansion Committee

This committee leads initiatives that increase awareness and educate self-advocates and the community about public policy, disability rights, and more. This committee also seeks to expand the efforts of SAI by opening new chapters and supporting current chapters.

Special Events Committee

This committee helps plan Self-Advocates of Indiana events, such as the annual picnic, conference, and statewide meetings.

Public Policy Committee

This committee seeks to inform SAI members about current legislative topics and public policy initiatives that affect individuals with disabilities and their families.
